Sylvia Beach

Sylvia Woodbridge Beach (March 17, 1887 – October 5, 1962) was an American-born bookshop owner who operated Shakespeare and Company in Paris from 1919 to 1941. The shop served as a home for expatriate writers as well as French authors.1
